Most fashionable moment: Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears in matching denim outfits. I still dream of how horrendous and dreamy they looked.
Chanel ambassador and photographer’s agent, Jen Brill is the girl you would want to sit next to at a dinner party; down to earth, wickedly funny and effortlessly chic. Brill oozes perpetual cool and edgy attitude in her everyday life and style and her trademark luscious brown hair and red lips (she wears Chanel Rouge Allure in Dragon) mean she is able to pull off almost anything. Having ‘sold her soul to Karl Lagerfeld’ in 2009, Jen travels the globe encased in a number of Chanel’s standout pieces (she is one of the few owners of the brands ice cube clutch), alongside clothes by Proenza Schouler, Sophomore and Christopher Kane. Jen favours sheer lace or a bodycon number, which she pulls off amazingly due to her petite, curvaceous figure. Brill describes her style inspiration as the films of David Lynch and amusingly the ‘gothic, lolita’ Sky Ferreira. Jen’s ability to look chic whilst wearing faux fur, leopard print and short hemlines, sometimes all at once is enviable.
With her exotic appearance and eclectic style, Jen’s look is like her attitude, easily admirable, but hard to imitate. Any girl can throw on a pair of Proenza Schouler heels and slick on red lipstick, though it is rare they are blessed with her nonchalance. It is her quirks that make her such an icon: her on/off relationship with the controversial Terry Richardson, the fact she is a successful business woman and that after her ‘wild’ high school years, she is now teetotal. It is not only her beauty or designer wardrobe that make her an icon, but her attitude, one that says: ‘this is me, like it or not.’ Well fortunately for Jen, the fashion world really, really does.
